Superelastic NiTi comes off the spool arrow straight and can be bent to a round archform by giving more than required bend. Sizes .012 and .014 can be left straight and engaged in brackets for initial leveling. .016,.018 and .020 can cause expansion of molars when left straight. This property can be used when expansion is actually required.
