| All
our archwires are manufactured from 304VAR material. 304VAR is Vacuum
Arc Remelted (VAR) stainless steel. This process yields a more uniform
chemistry with minimal voids and contaminants. It would reduce any
chances of brittleness that may lead to breakage. The material properties
help us in getting true square or rectangular wire in cross section
with minimum corner radii. The ease of joining with solder or welding,
combined with excellent strength makes it most desirable for orthodontic
application.
During
wire drawing, we insure that all our archwires are having minimum
corner radii and are free of film on edges formed by carbide
precipitation phenomenon that occurs if strict quality controls
are not used during manufacturing process. Tightest tolerance in
size of wire is maintained using continuous laser measuring equipment,
which would automatically stop the production if the size variation
were there.
All wires are tested for required tensile strength before and after
the archwire forming process to ensure accurate tensile specifications.
Various bend testing involving most intricate bends is performed
on each lot to verify proper ductility and to ensure that no brittleness
conditions are there.
Ready
archwires are then subjected to strict inspection requirements for
torque and arch shape one by one. Each wire has to be perfectly
flat not in front area but also in posterior sections. For we very
well understand that torque is a serious condition that can cause
harmful effects to an orthodontist’s patient. We know that
highly polished surface is attractive and reduces friction
