These archwires have
martensite present at room temperature, but go through a transformation
change to austenite, which strengthens the wire once placed in the
mouth. Slightly soft outside the mouth for easier ligation, but
elastic modulus increases to produce a fully austenitic wire once
in the mouth. Thermal archwires are the wire of choice for severe
malocclusions, and offer earlier rectangular wire engagement. .
It is a very gentle wire and therefore very comfortable for the
patient. A .016X.022 rectangular heat activated NiTi archwire has
approximately the same force as a .016 round regular superelastic
NiTi arch. Softness of wire makes it more vulnerable to permanent
deformation compared to superelastic NiTi wires. But if the wire
is not deformed beyond the yield point while ligating permanent
deformation is avoidable.
Available in Natural Form
and OrthoformIII
shapes
All archwires are
having distinct and permanent etched markings for midline. While
upper arches have three midline marks, lower ones have one midline
etch mark.
Dimpled Midlines: A horizontal dimple is permanently
heat set into the archwire to ensure that they will not move once
placed in the mouth and that they will not have cold worked weak
spots.
All wires have Ultra smooth finish for more aesthetic
value and minimum friction
The following sizes are regularly available.
